How to Prepare Matcha Using Sachets

Each sachet contains 1.5g of ceremonial grade matcha, measured for balance and consistency.

Classic Hot Matcha:

Empty one sachet into a cup or bowl. Add approximately 75ml of water heated to 60 - 70°C. Whisk with a bamboo whisk or froth vigorously until smooth.

Iced or On‑the‑Go Matcha:

Add one sachet to a shaker bottle with cold water or milk. Shake well and enjoy chilled.

Smoothies and Breakfasts:

Sprinkle one sachet straight into smoothies, oats or yoghurt for a clean, green lift.

Prepare matcha green tea the traditional way using a bowl and bamboo whisk (chasen) for a smooth consistency. Explore our Matcha Essentials in the Teaware collection and learn about the Japanese tea ceremony in our Tea Journal

Potential Health Benefits of Matcha

Matcha green tea is celebrated for its naturally high concentration of antioxidants, particularly catechins such as EGCG. Studies show that because the entire tea leaf is consumed, matcha provides a richer nutritional profile than standard brewed green tea, delivering higher levels of beneficial compounds including polyphenols and amino acids.

Origin and Craftsmanship

Our ceremonial matcha is produced in Ise Bay on Japan’s Pacific coast, a region with over 800 years of matcha heritage. The shaded cultivation, hand harvesting and stone grinding techniques are overseen by specialist Japanese tea farmers who view matcha as both an art and a cultural legacy.

For centuries, matcha has been enjoyed by monks, samurai and tea masters alike as a source of calm energy and focused awareness. Every caddy reflects that tradition, care and craftsmanship.

Region

Ise Bay, Mie Pref, Japan

Located in the southeast of Japan, Ise Bay in Mie Prefecture fronts the Philippine Sea, showcasing a varied elevation from sea level to 64 meters. Characterised by a humid subtropical climate, the bay experiences distinct seasonal changes. Summers here are brief yet warm, with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 30°C, transitioning into cooler autumns and winters where temperatures can drop to between 4°C and 13°C. Spring gradually warms the region, setting the stage for another warm summer.

The bay’s weather pattern is predominantly cloudy or overcast, contributing to consistent, albeit varying, levels of rainfall throughout the year. Summer months witness significant cloud cover and the highest rainfall, amplifying the humidity to98%, which starkly contrasts with the drier air seen in late autumn and winter. Wind patterns also vary seasonally, with cool, strong gales typical throughout the year, becoming gentler during the summer months. The bay, enriched by the waters from the Kiso Three, Nikko, and Honai rivers, supports a rich marine life, famed for its fish and seaweed. On its southernmost tip lies the Ise-Shima National Park, a biodiversity hotspot that provides sanctuary to species such as loggerhead turtles and native plants like hibiscus and spider lily, making Ise Bay not just a scenic wonder but also an ecological treasure.
