A Luxurious Fusion of Honeybush, Citrus, Cocoa and Warming Spices

Experience a luxurious caffeine free chai crafted for lovers of aromatic herbal blends. This refined loose leaf infusion brings together smooth South African honeybush, bright orange, rich cocoa and gentle Indian spices to create a naturally sweet and softly warming cup. Lightly spiced, fragrant and beautifully comforting, it offers a soothing alternative to traditional black chai and is especially loved by those who enjoy exploring premium herbal teas.

What is Chai of Madagascar Honeybush Tea

Honeybush is a naturally caffeine free herbal infusion native to South Africa and closely related to rooibos. Grown primarily in the Cedarberg Mountains, it is cherished for its golden colour, soft floral aroma and naturally sweet, honey like flavour. Compared with rooibos, honeybush is smoother, less earthy and beautifully rounded, making it an excellent base for herbal chai blends.

It is often enjoyed for its gentle, soothing qualities and its naturally antioxidant rich composition, making it a popular choice for drinkers seeking a calming and restorative herbal tea.

Tea Highlights

  • Naturally caffeine free honeybush chai
  • Soft, aromatic and naturally sweet with orange, cocoa and warming spice
  • Crafted using South African honeybush and traditional Indian spices
  • Smooth and beautifully balanced whether enjoyed black or with milk
  • Small batch blended for consistency and flavour clarity
  • A comforting evening friendly alternative to classic chai

Tasting Notes

Why Choose This Tea

A premium loose leaf chai tea with natural sweetness and warming spice

  • Caffeine free and ideal for evening relaxation
  • Honeybush adds an aromatic, softer profile compared to rooibos tea
  • Perfect for brewing in a loose-leaf teapot or infuser
  • A comforting alternative to traditional chai tea latte blends
  • Balanced flavour suitable for drinking with or without milk

Production and Leaf Grade

The honeybush in this blend is carefully cut, naturally oxidised and gently dried to preserve its smooth sweetness and floral aroma. Its even leaf grade ensures a consistent infusion with a clean, rounded flavour that forms the perfect base for citrus, cocoa and warming spice.

Wellbeing and Potential Benefits

Chai of Madagascar provides a naturally caffeine free way to enjoy the warmth and comfort of spiced tea. Honeybush is appreciated for its soothing character and gentle sweetness, making it an ideal choice for relaxation and unwinding in the late afternoon or evening. Many tea drinkers value its smooth flavour and calming presence as part of a peaceful daily ritual.

Origin and Craftsmanship

Chai of Madagascar begins with high quality honeybush grown in the remote Cedarberg Mountains of South Africa. This rugged, biodiverse region is renowned for producing honeybush with exceptional natural sweetness, floral aromatics and smooth golden liquor. Generations of careful cultivation and wild harvesting have shaped its distinctive character.

Region

Cape Town, South Africa

The Western Cape, stretching from the Cape of Good Hope northwards and eastwards, is South Africa's southernmost province, marked by a diverse 900km coastline along both the Atlantic and Southern Indian Oceans. Its topography is exceptionally varied, featuring semiarid plateaus, rocky escarpments, andspectacular sandy beaches and rocky capes. The climate across this expansive area varies significantly, with coastal zones experiencing a temperate oceanic climate, while inland regions deal with semi-arid to cold desert conditions.

Rooibos tea, renowned worldwide, originates from Cederberg, a mountainous area 300km north of Cape Town. This region, with elevations ranging from 800m to over 1,800m, embraces a hot, semi-arid climate, characterized by intensely hot summers and mild to cool winters, receiving minimal rainfall and predominantly clear skies. The challenging terrain and climate restrict the extent of arable land, limiting agricultural output primarily to Rooibos tea, which thrives under these conditions. In addition to Rooibos, the area produces fruit, tobacco, wine, and proteas. The diverse wildlife includes leopards, caracals, meerkats, mongooses, antelopes, zebras, and a variety of birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects, adding to the region’s rich biodiversity and enhancing its ecological value.
